The Teal Pumpkin Project

The Teal Pumpkin Project

Recently, I’ve been seeing a lot of teal pumpkins everywhere and thought it was a pretty feature for Halloween. It wasn’t until I clicked on a Pinterest picture that took me to a link called The Teal Pumpkin Project.

Sadly, many people don’t understand the severity of food allergies. The Teal Pumpkin Project raises awareness for food allergies. The concept is to place a teal pumpkin outside your house and this lets trick or treaters know you have allergy friendly or non edible treats. Some ideas for the non edible treats can be stickers, small toys and school supplies.

I love this concept because I have sooooooooo many food allergies. I remember when my brother and I were younger and after a night of trick or treating we would exchange candy. This resulted in about 3/4 of my candy going over to my brother. NOT FUN! But the reality is that I couldn’t eat most of the candy.

Overall, this is a fabulous concept and I hope you all take the pledge and participate in The Teal Pumpkin Project.
