Camp Wonder

Camp Wonder

There are seven natural wonders in the world, but after hearing about Camp Wonder I’m thinking there should be eight.

In America, a large majority of the kids attend summer camp, myself included. I’ll be the first person to tell you that I had a love/hate relationship with camp. Besides being a chubby little bastard, I didn’t have an athletic bone in my body (at the time) so sports were no es divertido.

However, the real challenge was my eczema. Having eczema at camp is about as much fun as using sandpaper after doing a number 2. In other words, rough! Absolutely no short shorts, halter tops, or summa lovin’ for this gal.

So a few weeks ago, I stumbled upon Camp Wonder. You see, my daily morning routine is to roll out of bed and go straight to my cetaphil. Its one of the best products for dry skin (no, I am not getting paid to say this. I truly believe it). Anyways, I was googling cetaphil to see if they had any new products and thats when I saw their partnership with Camp Wonder.

Camp Wonder is a dream come true for skin sufferers. It’s a camp designed for children with chronic and life threatening skin diseases. A mecca where children won’t be judged by their skin because it is an even playing field. A place where children can gain confidence and know that they aren’t the only ones suffering from a skin disease. A place where risks shall be taken. A place where children feel normal and gain a sense of community.

Ready for the best part? Its free! Let me retype that. Its FREE!! All costs are covered. Even your flight. No, I’m not making this up. Sounds bizarre as we live in a world where you have to pay for air rights. However, it really is free thanks to sponsors and donors.

This is hands down one of the best discoveries in 2015 that I have found. Not only is it for a great cause, but it is extremely beneficial to parents who shell out a ton of money for medical treatment.
