Superfoods!

Superfoods!

Thanksgiving is over, so now its time to start eating healthier. Here are a list of the best superfoods to get you back on track…until Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa (or the next holiday or party you celebrate) that is.

// Berries \\

Take out the snoz and you are left with berries! Thats right, berries are wonderful for your body and there are many to choose from. Blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, cranberries, goji berries (my fav), etc.

// Soy \\

“Beans, beans
they’re good for your heart
the more you eat
the more you fart

Soybeans that is! They are another powerful food group. They help lower cholesterol and possibly improve memory loss. Ohhh and they are a very good source of protein.

// Tea \\

Let’s Get This ParTEAAAAA Started! Drinking tea is one of the best things for your body. Lots of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, reduces stress and the list goes on. So grab a cup of tea and stick that pinky out!! Green tea seems to be the most beneficial but I love black tea. Either way drinking any tea is great for the mind, body and soul.

// Greens \\

Lettuce and spinach and kale oh my! Greens are the holy grail oh health. They are rich in vitamins A, B, C, E and K. They are filled with potassium, calcium and iron to name a few. Most importantly, they help with your digestive tract.

// Salmon \\

Yes, those fish that swim upstream. They swim upstream btw to migrate into the ocean (early lives are spent in rivers) to live their adult lives. Salmon (the L is silent, for those that pronounce it) is filled with omega-3 fatty acid which is great for skin and cholesterol.

// Dark Chocolate \\

Yup! Thats exactly how I feel about dark chocolate too kids. But this superfood has lots of antioxidants, flavonoids and immune boasting benefits.

// Wine and Grapes \\

“Wine does not make you FAT, it makes you LEAN… agaist tables, floors, walls and ugly people.” – ecards #8 http://bitofwine.blogspot.com/2013/05/my-10-favorite-wine-quotes.html

 Wine. Whats not to love. Drinking it benefits me enough to not care about the actual benefits. #wino
