I’m always fascinated to see where technology is headed when it comes to our health. Nanomesh is coming in hot for the future of skin tech. Lighter than regular skin cells, completely breathable and flexible, this mesh will signal your current health condition to display screens.
Engineers from the University of Tokyo developed “electronic skin.” This skin is said to monitor health-related issues such as heart rate or even your blood alcohol level.
Our system could serve as one of the long-awaited solutions to fulfill this need, which will ultimately lead to improving the quality of life. ~Takao Someya
The best part is that it doesn’t cause inflammation (or so they say, we’ll see about that). The nanomesh is a made up of micro LEDs that displays graphics with motion. It’s applied to the skin and can be worn comfortably.
Ultimately, the engineer’s mission is to empower and make healthcare more accessible for everyone.
