In 2010, some of us were racking up college debt (cough, me, cough) while others were in the midst of launching their skin care company.
Hailing from the UK, Sweet Cecily’s was founded by brother and sister duo Cecily and Hugo who were already running a natural product company. Having suffered from troublesome skin, they wanted to create something that was natural and affordable.
What sets them apart from other companies was their sense of inclusion. They knew that in order to have the best products, researching multiple communities was crucial. Through forums, social media, friends and family they pooled together suggestions and tested ingredients through massive trial and error.
Eventually, they got it right and thus Sweet Cecily’s skin care line was born.
As you can see from the above picture, they have a huge selection of products. Covering all the bases – lips, hands, face and body. Sweet Cecily’s also allows you to create your own kit, personalize a gift kit or curate one for wedding favors.
I was able to test out the soothing skin cream, which is geared towards eczema. Packaged in a cute jar, this earthy scented cream is thin and light to the touch. Using a little dab, the cream blended in perfectly, getting into all the cracks and crevices on my dry hands.
In addition, I received the soothing bath infusions, which I’m THRILLED about because I love bath products! Packaged like a teabag, this beautiful bath infusion is made up of colloidal oatmeal and chamomilla recutita flowers which expands as soon as it hits running water.
