Song of Style – Opens Up About Blogging, Stress & Struggles With Eczema

Perspective.

Perspective is the first word that came to my mind as I read, The Truth About Blogging That No One Talks About  by Aimee Song. Influencers are in the same category as celebrity right now with fashionistas, makeup gurus, health & fitness experts, techies, foodies, travelers and comedians leading the pack.

Hard work, a laser focused mindset and a certain amount of finesse are big testaments to their success. They travel around the world, attend some of the most prestigious and exclusive events, are gifted with the latest designer goods and so much more. But Kanye says it best…

This the life that everybody ask for
This the fast life, we are on a crash course
~ Kanye West (Run This Town)

Aimee Song is a fashion influencer icon. Someone who I’ve followed for a while, because I truly believe her style is impeccable!

(Not to mention she’s a incredible interior designer as well – her marble floor patterned floors below.)

More importantly, I follow Aimee because of her raw honesty about her struggles – one of which happens to be eczema. In the past, she’s dealt with teasing from other women in fashion due to an eczema flare-up.

The blog post Aimee wrote, highlights her extreme exhaustion after her trip to Utah. Not just physically exhaustion, but mental as well. Having the worse eczema breakout, she knew  something wasn’t right. Instead of fighting it – she did what more people should do. She rested, recharged and regrouped. Aimee took us back to why she started in the first place, and how managed to get where she is today. Putting everything into perspective.

This was truly a wonderful read and I believe it’s paramount for people to see influencers vulnerability. Especially if they want to be relatable. Nobody’s perfect, regardless of what instagram might have you think. I truly appreciate blog posts like this and wish people would speak out about their struggles and their truths.
