Godfather of Fashion, Daniel Boey’s New Book Highlights His Struggle With Eczema

Meet Daniel Boey, the Godfather of Fashion in Singapore and one of the most sought after fashion producers in Asia…

Fashion Director / Creative Curator of fashion events / Mentor to designers / Former judge on Asia’s Next Top Model… are just some of his many titles.

Daniel’s worked with an impressive list of clients, such as: Tiffany, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Hugo Boss, Jean Paul Gaultier and M.A.C to name a few.

As someone always on the go, Daniel shows a different side as he opens up about his struggle with eczema. His new book (which I’m really looking forward to reading) is titled Behind Every Itch is a Backstory.

Today we are taking time to salute the eczema warriors who get out of bed every day and fight flare ups and everything that comes along with them. First up: Now known as "the godfather of Singapore fashion," @danielboey danielboey has had eczema since childhood. In his new book, he talks about his journey to the top of an industry obsessed with appearance. • #regram @danielboey • Thank you @nationaleczema for including "Behind every *itch is a Back Story: the struggles of growing up with rash" in National Eczema Awareness Month. Writing this book and reliving the past has been difficult, yet strangely cathartic. You learn not to let something like eczema stand in the way of living. Yes, it's inconvenient, it's itchy and it's irritating. But you learn to make adjustments and to forge your own path. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. You adapt, flaky rashy skin and all, and along the way, you realize that you can lead as fabulous a life as everyone else. #behindeveryitchisabackstory #thebookofdanielboey #eczemamonth

This book had me at the title, but when I read some of the chapter titles out loud –

  • The Young and the Rashless
  • Starting From Scratch
  • Red is the New Black
  • The Fault In Our Stars

I knew this is a MUST HAVE book!

Daniel book highlights his eczema triggers some of which include: seafood, dairy, grass and his own sweat.

I can’t wait to read about his life story and see how he managed a successful career with a chronic skin condition.
