Georgie Aves is someone who can attest to this happening. Georgie a 26 year old design consultant from Rotherhithe, London wanted to maintain her youthful looks and decided to get a $1,700 chemical peel. Unfortunately, the chemical peeled away her face, confidence, social life and everything else in between. Georgie had an allergic reaction to the chemical peel. Instead of being left rejuvenated her skin was scarred with cysts.
Like anyone who has a skin condition or disease, dealing with the psychological toll is tough. Georgie has a hard time leaving her house, broke up with her boyfriend and suffers from low self esteem.
With so much emphasis on beauty and youthfulness, people to go extreme lengths and sometimes its just not worth it. Sadly, Georgie kept going back for treatments even after her skin started to have noticeable scarring. This is an important less for everyone to know your skin.
