  1. Hi Ashley!
I’d love to get in touch with you about Lavior Pharma’s product for eczema! I use their moisturizer for ichthyosis and it is the ONLY thing that’s ever relieved my constant itching. (I’ve lived with type 1 diabetes for 25 years, which doesn’t help!) We’d love to chat about partnering with you and sending you some samples to review!

  3. Hi. I’m a US-based writer working on a project called Tippi for Everyday Health that focuses on atopic dermatitis. Tippi is Everyday Health’s flagship peer-to-peer tip-sharing tool for people living with specific health conditions, as well as for their caregivers, loved ones, and healthcare professionals. Everyday Health has launched Tippis for other conditions including type 2 diabetes, RA, MS, and COVID-19.

I’ve read your posts on several platforms and would love to interview you.

Weā€™re creating content for Tippi to launch in early April, so Iā€™d love to connect as soon as possible. Following are some areas where we’d welcome input, but we are really open to any suggestions people have that might move fellow patients or caregivers to say “What a great idea. I’m going to try that!” Even one or two tips in total would be tremendously helpful!

  4. Hi Ashley. I was just doing a bit of research and came across your post on 5 hand sanitizers for those with eczema. Specifically, I was gathering clinical evidence that alcohol based ones, or scented ones, cause or exacerbate contact and atopic dermatitis, because I actually distribute one that lasts (protects) for four hours on the skin and yet has no alcohol or scent. It lasts so long because it kills pathogens physically with molecular-scale spears, if you will, rather than chemically by destroying the pathogen’s shell or membrane. Chemical protection ends as soon as the alcohol or soap dries up or is rinsed off. Because it lasts so long, you use it less often with great results and no irritants. It’s called Protect4 by JennsCo, but it’s a new product pretty much custom formulated for us at MRS Allergy Solutions. I’d love to send you a sample.

  8. Hello there,

You wrote an article about Juicebot on June 3, 2019.

Thank you so much for taking the time writing that article and we would like to see if you would be interested in writing another piece on our growth.

    To give a brief update:

As the vending machine industry is rapidly changing and customers are in search of healthier options, Juicebot brings nutritious and locally sourced juice at the touch of a button through its integrated hardware and software technology. We are driven by the passion to provide people with easier access to nutritious foods, because we believe nutrition is a necessity and juice is a healthier alternative to many drinks found at traditional vending machines.

Located in Los Angeles, we piloted in 20 various locations ranging from corporate cafes, to schools to retail locations. For the past 1.5 years we have been delivering nutrition one cup at a time to thousands of people. Now more than ever, we know the importance of fueling our bodies with nutritious healthy foods. We want that option to be more accessible. Post-Covid-19 we want to see a different world; a world that puts people first. Alternative delivery and distribution mechanisms are on the rise to adapt to the new challenges.

We would love to answer any questions you may have on what we have been up to since June 3, 2019.

  9. Hello there, I have a story idea on eczema and the microbiome and wanted to see if you might be interested in speaking with some experts from the National Eczema Association, etc.

  10. Hi Ashley,

I am Priya and host an online radio talk show called CureTalks. The show discusses the latest in medical research and treatments with an expert and a panel of patients / patient advocates.

We are discussing Atopic Dermatitis with Dr. Zelma Chiesa Fuxench on 19th June @1pm ET. We invite you to be part of the patient panel. As a panelist you will get 10-15 minutes to discuss the topic with the expert and share your experiences.

The talk format involves a discussion between expert and host followed by QA with doctor by the patient panel and then taking live questions from the audience. All of 60 mins duration, the entire talk is conducted remotely and all you need to join and participate is dial-in.

I wanted to reach out since I strongly feel that your insights would add value to the discussion.

You can check out the talk detail page – which is a work in progress – https://www.curetalks.com/event/rsvp/Understanding-Atopic-Dermatitis-Eczema-and-Treating-It-/336/?upcoming=yes

Please let me know your interest and availability. Would be great if you could join.

  11. Hi,
I have followed your writing for quite awhile now as I pursued an effective remedy for my daughter’s eczema which is coupled with an allergy to a plethora of things. This journey has led me back to Africa in an effort to find solutions that will not have any steroid like damage to her in the future. So, cue African Black Soap. I found this to be initially helpful but on further research I found out that the soap can be made to specific issues so of-course I jumped on a plane and in 2 years and counting since we have all smiles on the eczema front. Thank you for your part in our journey.

    1. Hi Ola,

Thanks so much for reading my blog : )

Yes, I’ve heard that African Black Soap is a very helpful solution. Unfortunately, I didn’t work well for my skin. Whomp whomp. I guess it goes to show that no two cases of eczema are alike.

I’m thrilled that it works for you though, especially for 2 years and counting. That’s incredible and I hope it works for others as well.

  12. Hi!

I am currently in my third year of a psychology degree at Teesside university. I am working on my dissertation about the mental and physical effects eczema has on a person which is how I discovered your blog. For my research I am wanting to collect data from blog posts that have already been posted on your blog. I was hoping you would kindly let me use your posts as data for my study, names and identifying information will be kept private.

Looking forward to hearing from you

    1. Hello to all who suffer from eczema,

My name is Nancy Kimmel, I am a FNP-BC and 3rd year medical student. I have been making Volace for over 10 years. I would like to send anyone a free jar of this aromatic powder made with clean natural ingredients. I am hoping to, #1. help those with eczema and #2. Try to get the word out about my product. All you have to do is add a bit of water to moisten the skin and gently apply the powder until it makes a smooth thin paste. Let it dry. Then flake it off in 20 minutes or 20 hours. Then let me know how it works. I guarentee that it will take away the itch. Trust me I know.

  14. Iā€™ve been scratching since my Mother stopped breastfeeding me. Iā€™m 63 now, I did have a time of being itch free because of allergy shots. BUT! After I had my two children it came back with a vengeance. I have regular appointments with my Dermatologist and Allergist. I have my own Phototherapy unit. I sew and that helps me with choosing fabrics, such as there is a difference in polyester fabrics. Where they are manufactured and how.
    Iā€™ll be reading your blog.

    1. Hi Donna,

Thanks so much for reading my blog. It’s great to hear from someone who’s been through the ringer with eczema!
When you were young did they diagnose it as eczema or as something else?

Oh no, that’s my fear – that when I have kids my eczema is going to be off the charts awful.

Yes, you are correct about fabrics. Also, congrats on sewing that’s awesome. A habit I should have picked up when I was younger.

Thanks so much for the support šŸ™‚

  15. I do think it’s the sun because it seems to trigger my skin and I’ve been drinking plenty of water because I read that it definitely helps dry skin. I’ve been using Diprobase (prescribed ointment) which is very useful and I have used it all my life but it doesn’t last very long. I’m looking for a moisturiser or an ointment specifically that I can just apply in the morning and it could last me a school day or maybe something small I could just pop in my school bag. Thank you again for your help x

  16. Hi there,
I’m new here, but in need of advice. Since the sun has finally come out, so has my eczema. I used to have it under control and had good skin for a good few years now but whenever the sun arrives, my skin gets worse. Especially right now – I’m currently experiencing red dry skin that’s bumpy and constantly hot. What skin-care products do you recommend? I’m only 15 so I can’t buy the expensive, fancy products; any local suggestions?

Thank you for all the help x

    1. Hi Mehnaz,

Thanks so much for reaching out! Isn’t eczema such a pain! Hmm, do you think your skin is becoming inflamed from the sun or due to the change in the seasons? Whenever we transition in the next season my skin always breaks out (like right now for example).

I’ve been taking dead sea salt baths – and lightly moisturizing. I’m trying to drink a lot of water and semi-eating healthy.

No worries, I’m double your age and I myself don’t want to spend a ton of money on fancy products.
Some of the products I love are dove products (super affordable) and Westlab bath salts.

What kind of products are you looking for specifically? Lotions? Creams? Ointments?

  17. Hi Ashley,

I know you don’t know me but I cam across your blog “Itching Since 87′ ” and I wanted to share a product with you that I know you can benefit and love!

The product is called Sheago Cosmetics!! Recently sold through Wholefoods, Walgreen’s and other health food stores for 12 years, leading in its category, before changing it’s distribution model to online/direct sales.

Sheago was developed by a mom in desperate hopes to heal her son’s eczema with natural and organic ingredients. In that need Anoa Stephanie Gollman PREVAILED! Our top of the line Rose Butter specifically was the product she created with scientist that healed and continues to heal eczema around the country.

Sheago Cosmetics is a luxury plant or “food” based body care products specializing in vitamin rich butters and oils.

I would love for you to take a look at my site and give a product review on your blog.

    1. Hi Steve,

Never heard of Solace Cream, I’ll have to check them out.

I’m loving the fact that it’s steroid-free and available without prescription.

      Thanks!

    1. Hi Cally,

Thanks for reaching out, and no worries about being forward. As far as my own personal routine, it depends on the state of my skin. Right now I’ve been taking dead sea salt / epson salt baths a couple of days a week. Also, I’ve been trying a method of letting the natural oils come out of my skin, which is essentially a moisturizer withdrawal. My skin looks incredibly dry for a few days, then the my natural oils come out, moisturizing it.

It’s a bit hard to do in the wintertime.

If my skin is REALLY BAD (staph infection) I’ll either visit a dermatologist or do some heavy research online to see what natural remedies could help alleviate the pain.

To be honest, it really just depends on how my skin is at the given moment. I don’t write too much about what I’m doing personally because my goal really is to find a solution. I love recommending things that I try, but I don’t want to push anybody into anything until its 100% guaranteed to be a cure.

      Hope that helps.

      Best,
      Ashley

  19. Hi Ashley,

Someone from Reddit pointed me to your blog and recommended I reach out to you. I thought your readers (and hopefully you too) might benefit from a small app I’ve been working on. It allows to bookmark allergic products and track ingredients found in those products.

    1. Hi Baha,

Thanks so much for reaching out.

I would love to check out your app and see all the cool features.

What made you come up with the app?

      1. So sorry for late reply (I thought there would be notification on reply :D)

It wasn’t my idea. I read a post on reddit that there should be an app like this and I liked it šŸ™‚
It’s basic right now and I am just looking to get a feedback and see if people like or need it.

        thanks for replying)

      2. Hey I would really like to send you a sample of this medicated cream and ointment that is older then me that came to the states from Poland and have just started producing in large quantities. When I say I have more then just the solution to eczema but all skin problems I donā€™t say that lightly, or without an army of personal friends and acquaintances that no longer suffer from painful sores and cracked bleeding skin. One that dealt with it for 27 years and his dermatologist informed him that heā€™s tried all the steroids and everything they had and it all only made it worst. With this medicine it was almost gone in three days. I implore you. For the sake of everyone suffering. Reach out and let me send you some samples and help me end the the cabinet full of useless expensive medicated creams. http://Www.373brand.com

  20. Hello

I just wanted to send you a quick email since I saw that you talked about the topic of becoming more eco-friendly/going green on the page below.

    https://itchinsince87.com/skin-info/1365

We just put together a 7,000 word post with 158 ways to go green, and I wanted to hear if it’s okay I share it with you since you seem interested about the topic.

Anyway, kudos to you for sharing the important message of encouraging more sustainable living!

Let me know if you’d like to see the post.

    Best regards,
    Aleksandar

  21. Good Day!

I was doing some research on an article I was writing about beauty and health when I noticed that you guys had some good stuff on your site, especially this one
https://itchinsince87.com/skin-info/eczema-embarrassing-bodies. I really liked the post and wanted to know if you often have guest content and that sort of thing because I write for HospitalHippo and we are always happy to share any of the content or research we have been doing.

You can post the articles or any of the information from them as your own if you wish but all I ask in return is that you link to my original page. The reason I mention this is that I did a recently article on what to look for when choosing a dermatologist, what qualities and qualifications to look for as well as what they can treat (https://hospitalhippo.com/HospitalHippo-Highlights/article/things-i-need-to-look-for-when-choosing-a-dermatologist-near-me). It was specifically written to balance information with readability so I am confident that your readers would enjoy it.

If you donā€™t think that particular article would be of use, I also did a piece on whether or not Botox is worth it and the associated costs (https://hospitalhippo.com/HospitalHippo-Highlights/article/what-does-botox-cost-and-is-it-actually-worth-it). It is well researched and gives a detailed while still readable summary of what Botox actually does and how it works. If you want to go toward the alternative medicine side, I did an article on acupuncture for weight-loss that your readers might enjoy (https://hospitalhippo.com/HospitalHippo-Highlights/article/is-acupuncture-for-weight-loss-effective.), that looks at the various kinds of acupuncture and how it relates to losing weight. When I studied in Beijing, my classmates swore by it which led me to do my own research.

I am really sorry to contact you out of the blue like this but I do hope you like the content I have made and would like to use it. I have a large body of work that I have put together over the last few years that I would be happy to share if the articles I have mentioned are not your cup of tea.

    Best Regards
    Christine
